Beijing Capital International Airport (BCIA) is also called Capital Airport or Beijing Airport. BCIA is not only the primary window to the outside world for China’s capital, Beijing, but also the most important air transportation hub for China’s civil aviation sector. BCIA is the center of China’s civil aviation network, and the main hub for Air China.
3. Terminal Information
Beijing Capital International Airport consists of three terminal buildings, (T1, T2 and T3), two 4E-class runways, one 4F-class runway, and advanced passenger and cargo facilities. Shuttle bus service connects the three terminal buildings, providing easy access for passengers transiting through Beijing on flights served by different terminals. Air China’s airport operations are located in Terminal T3.

Air China’s check-in counters are located in Terminal T3, on floor C4, at counters F, H and J.

Location:Located on the west floating island, Domestic Departure Waiting Area, 3rd Floor, T3-C
Operating Hours:From one hour prior to the first scheduled departure (05:00) until the departure of the last flight.
Facilities:Offering a range of functional areas including a Lounge for Platinum Card holders, a dining area, an Internet corner, a film and television area, a rest area, a business area, a sleeping area and shower facilities.
International First Class Lounge
Location:Located on the west floating island, at the northern end of International Departure Waiting Area, 2nd Floor, T3-E
Operating Hours:From one hour prior to the first scheduled departure (03:30) until the departure of the last flight (02:30).
Facilities:Offering a range of functional areas including a VIP Lounge, a Lounge for Platinum Card holders, a sleeping area, a massage area, an Internet corner, a business area, a dining area, a bar, a film and television area and shower facilities.
International Business Class Lounge
Location:Located on the east floating island, at the northern end of International Departure Waiting Area, 2nd Floor, T3-E
Operating Hours:From one hour prior to the first scheduled departure (03:30) until the departure of the last flight (02:30).
Facilities:Offering a wide range of functional areas including a VIP Lounge, a sleeping area, a massage area, an Internet corner, a business area, a dining area, a bar, a film and television area and shower facilities.
Domestic First & Business Class Lounge
Location:Located at the foot of the west escalator next to the Domestic Security Inspection Station, 2nd Floor, T3-C
Operating Hours:From one hour prior to the first scheduled departure (05:00) until the departure of the last flight.
Facilities:Offering a wide range of functional areas including a VIP Lounge, a dining area, a multi-media center, a rest area, a business area, a bar, shower facilities and massage chairs.
Transit Lounge
Location:Located near Boarding Gates C57-59 , in the Domestic Departure Waiting Area, 2nd Floor, T3-C
Operating Hours:06:00 - 22:30
Facilities:Offering shower facilities, an Internet corner, a rest area and a sleeping area.
7. VIP Check-in Area
In order to enhance the check-in experience and improve the check-in environment for our valued, premium passengers, Air China has constructed a special VIP Check-in Area in Terminal 3 at Beijing Capital International Airport. On October 11, 2012, this area was officially opened to offer preferred passengers privileged and exclusive check-in service.
If you are a "PhoenixMiles" Platinum card member taking flights operated by Air China departing from Beijing, or a First Class or Business Class passenger taking an International, or Hong Kong, Macao or Taiwan flight operated by Air China departing from Beijing, you are eligible to use the new check-in service in the VIP Check-in Area.

8. Airport Transportation
The airport is approximately 29.5 kilometers or 18.3 miles from downtown Beijing. Airport Express
Launched in 2008, a rail line links Beijing Dongzhimen Gate and Beijing Capital International Airport. There are four stations: Dongzhimen (where you can transfer to Beijing Subway Line No.2 and No.13), Sanyuanqiao (where you can transfer to Beijing Subway Line No.10), Terminal 2 and Terminal 3. The train runs every 10 minutes and the price for a one-way ticket is RMB 25 per person.
Taxi
Taxi stands are located at the arrival zone of every terminal building. It takes around 50 min. for a taxi to reach the center of Beijing and the taxi fare is about RMB 75 yuan. Beijing taxis charge a flag-down fare of RMB 10 yuan for the first 3 kilometers, and RMB 2 yuan for each additional kilometer travelled. There is also a fuel surcharge of RMB 2 for any trip that exceeds 3 kilometers.

Airport Shuttle Bus
Opened in the early 1990s, the Airport Highway directly links the Sanyuan Bridge at the East 3 rd Ring Road and Beijing Capital International Airport. Shuttle Bus Lines 2, 3 and 4 operate buses to and from the airport leaving every 15 minutes. Buses to other parts of the city are available, departing every 30 minutes or when the bus is full. The tickets cost RMB 16 yuan/person and can be purchased at the airport or various stations downtown.
9. Terminal 3 layout
Functions & Structures of C Zone in T3 (T3D)
C Zone (T3C) is an integrated service area and connects with traffic centers. It has four levels over ground and two levels under ground. Major functions of each level are as follows:
Level 4 - For domestic and international passengers to proceed with boarding procedures. There is a business area available on the floating island and connecting bridges leading to traffic centers.
Level 3 - For domestic departures and security inspection procedures for passengers taking domestic flights. There are domestic business-class and first-class lounges of Air China and restaurants.
Level 2 - For domestic arrivals, domestic and international baggage claims, custom inspection for international arrivals, domestic-domestic and domestic-international transfer areas and the APM (Automated Personnel Mover) platform. There are domestic business-class and first-class lounges of Air China and connecting bridges leading to traffic centers.
Level 1 - For station site - luggage belt for domestic and international arrivals, and luggage sorting for domestic departures. There is a staff restaurant and an airport VIP lounge.
Functions & Structures of D Zone in T3 (T3D)
D Zone (T3D) was opened before the 2008 Olympics to be temporarily used for charter flights security during the Olympics and Paralympics. It has three levels over ground and one level underground. Major functions of each level are as follows:
Level 3: For international arrivals.
Level 2: For international departures - waiting area for international departure.
Level 1: CIQ for international departures - distant parking bays for domestic flights.
Level -1: APM platforms - high speed transmission system for international baggage.
Functions & Structures of E Zone in T3 (T3E)
E Zone (T3E) is used for entry/exit of international flights. International passengers wait and board here. It has three levels over ground and one level underground. Major functions of each level are as follows:
Level 3 - For international arrivals. There are quarantine and frontier inspections for international arrivals.
Level 2 - For international departures. There are APM platforms, the quarantine, frontier, security and customs inspections for international departures, and international business-class and first-class lounges.

International and Domestic Arrival Exits are set up respectively in the middle of T3C (the red zone) and the sides (the green zone). You could drop off or pick up a passenger at the corresponding exit areas. Dressing rooms, ATM, the information desk for hotels and restaurants, and other service facilities are also available on this floor, providing passengers with more convenient and user-friendly ground services.
